Where There’s a Need…There’s a Lion
On Saturday, April 18, 2015 Lions Clubs International District 2-X1 presented the Amazing Grace Food Pantry with a check for $1000. A fire gutted the church building on their property July 29, 2014. The rent income from the church provided much of the funds needed to run the food pantry. The Pantry is housed out of a parsonage that was next to the church. Since the fire, Amazing Grace Food Pantry is struggling to stay open. Fortunately, many of their supporters have increased their donations to keep it going. This Pantry provides food and other household essentials on a weekly basis to many struggling families in Allen, Plano, Wylie, Sachse, Murphy, Farmersville, Royce City, Rowlett, and Caddo Mills, just to name a few.
The Amazing Grace Food Pantry is still in need of volunteers and a front-end loader for the cleanup of the church debris at 1711 Parker Rd, Wylie. Contact Pantry Director Cindy Rumore @ 972-292-7241 if you can help with the loader or volunteer your time.
